Refurbishment cost by UK region is being recalculated

The regional table that was published here showed median refurbishment costs, and costs per square foot, taken across every analysed property in each region, including the many that needed no work at all. Presented as the cost of refurbishing in a region, that is the wrong denominator: an average that mixes properties needing nothing with properties needing a lot lands on a number no builder would recognise. The figures have been withdrawn rather than left up while the fix is written.

The table will return once it is recomputed with the denominator stated on every column: the share of analysed properties in each region needing meaningful work, the median total and the median per square foot across properties that need work, and both figures again across properties containing a room at severity 7 or above, which means strip out and replace.
